My silence on this blog has been quite contrary to my activity. Not only have I resumed long-standing projects (like the one that initiated and inspired this blog) I have also started several new ones. Fear not though, I have been faithful in taking many pictures of everything I am doing. Below are a few previews of what's to come. I'll share a few comments on each.
The oil pump porting has been completed! This is the finished product. High grade flat head hex bolts to replace the stock Philips head screws which are difficult to torque (and aren't well trusted by industrial engineers...). The porting inside will be revealed later in a full post.
The beginning of one new project. Revitalizing a heavy duty drill made back in the early '60s, inherited from my father-in-law. It has either an aluminum housing (sweet!) or a pot metal housing (meh.. better than plastic). Which ever it is it's getting a full paint job along with bearing replacement and grease exchange.
Another father-in-law hand-me-down, this wheelbarrow is falling apart. Rather than replace it I'll take some spare wood I have laying around and rebuild it.
Somewhat different from the others is this. It is as small as it may seem. 3.5" diameter speaker with a 1" diameter port.
And this $20 Chinese stereo is driving it at the moment. That will change soon. The plan is to have a $16 stereo with $15 of modification added drive it from an iPod or any other 3.5 input.
Ok, lots to look forward to. Plenty for me to try to manage, especially as it goes with my spare time. Stick around things should start picking up as more of these projects near completion.
